It’s been one year since you’ve been gone- Sarah Kueking

It’s been one year since you’ve been gone.

One year since I’ve heard you sing along to your new favorite song.

Every time I hear that ballad by Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde,

It makes me remember you dancing to the music from the passenger seat of Dad’s car

on the last afternoon you were alive.

One year since the last time we walked down every single aisle at Walmart

and ate lunch at Culver’s afterwards.

I always loved their custard and cheese curds,

While you ordered their sweet potato fries and lemon ice smoothies.

One year.

The memories we’ve shared will never leave me,

Even when one year becomes two,

Two becomes three,

And three becomes thirty.

Until we meet again, I hope I make you proud.
